Petroglyphs and pictographs are a recurring theme in my work as they reflect images from some of the first abstract artists in history. Their meanings and intentions can only be speculated upon.
The paintings in this series incorporate the use of an aggregate base material, giving the impression of weathered stone. Iron and copper are added, then oxidized to activate an aging process. These paintings will continue to change and their patina will deepen
as time passes.
